The Code of Conduct (‘Code’) shall commence in operation from 1 January 2018.
The Code applies to each category of person and entity seeking or attaining membership of the Esports Games Association Australia (‘EGAA’). Those persons and entities shall be bound by and shall comply in all respects with the Code.
For completeness, the following are the persons and entities of the EGAA and related parties that the Code applies to:
No person or entity bound by this code shall:
the best interests, image or welfare of the EGAA and the esports scene as a whole.
No person or entity bound by this Code shall engage in any conduct that might impair public confidence in the EGAA and the esports scene.
Every person and entity bound by this Code shall also be bound by the following schedules which may be/have been adopted by the EGAA, as amended from time to time:
To the extent that any of these conflict, the EGAA Board shall use its sole discretion, with reference to its Objects, as to what takes priority in whole or in part.
No person or entity bound by this Code shall offer or accept a bribe or be involved in any way in the fixing of a match or spot fixing regardless of whether or not that club, team, or person is directly involved in the match.
In any case where a club, team or person bound by this Code is offered a bribe or an opportunity to fix a match, that club, team or person shall immediately report the making of that offer to the EGAA Chief Executive Officer.
All players, coaches, and league, tournament, and team/club officials should be conscious of the responsible use of social media and the ramifications that can arise from inappropriate use of social media websites and apps (including but not limited to):
All players, coaches, and league, tournament, and team/club officials should be fully aware that the EGAA will investigate and take the appropriate action under the Code for any action by a player, coaches, and league, tournament, and team/club official that is deemed unacceptable.
Every league, tournament, club, or team official shall at all times:
Every league or tournament organiser and every person bound by the Code must do all things necessary to ensure that members of the public in attendance at an event/match are properly behaved at all times.
Each league or tournament organiser must take positive steps to control the behaviour of members of the public in attendance at an event/match including:
A player is not able to play in a competition match with a club in a league, tournament, or other competitive event run by a member entity without a signed contract in a form acceptable to EGAA with the club/team she or he wishes to participate with.
