The EGAA Launches InEsports Australia

The Esports Games Association of Australia has been preparing activity to bring together esports interest groups in the midst of the pandemic facing the world in 2020. As part of this planning process, the EGAA has reflected on its focus and outreach methods with local communities and is proud to bring forth new initiatives.

At its core, the EGAA is an advocacy group for the esports industry.

Together, we are the Industry for Esports in this country, and that is why we are launching the InEsports brand as a new suite of communication & outreach programs.

InEsports Australia aims to provide Australian esports professionals, enthusiasts, players and fans around the country more ways to come together and talk about the issues that are most important to them.

The InEsports programs will focus on bettering interest group interaction by attempting to provide more structure to diverse communities’ engagement. In doing so, the EGAA hopes to create more platforms for topical discussion and opportunities for new ideas and initiatives to be explored in front of the entire industry.

In addition, the InEsports initiatives also look to play a more informative role for wider audiences both inside and outside the industry. Lastly, the InEsports programs will aim to give prominence to the accomplishments of those within the industry both on and off the competitive stage.
Here’s a look at the InEsports programs rolling out progressively from August 2020:

Monthly newsletter highlighting the latest news in esports for the month, with a heavier focus on domestic updates and achievements in the local industry, or those Australians punching above their weight internationally.

– Monthly livestream show to discuss industry topics, issues affecting the scene and the opportunities for Australian esports to expand.

The first InEsports show will air on August 13th at 8:30pm AEST and will feature members of the EGAA board covering topics such as the current impacts of COVID-19 on the Australian esports industry.

Join host Ben Green as he talks with EGAA CEO Matt Jessep and Founding Chairman Nick Vanzetti from 8:30pm AEST August 13 at twitch.tv/inesportsaus.

– Quarterly networking meetups in rotating cities around Australia. The event format is intended as late afternoon / after-work sessions and involves a short keynote delivered by prominent guest covering topical matters, followed by networking food & drinks. Given the current pandemic and varying stages of restrictions, these are currently on hold, but planned to commence when more clearly safe & practical.

Finally, the EGAA is looking to run an industry wide stakeholder survey to better identify the needs of our members and community. In addition to the InEsports initiatives, the industry survey will be a key focus of the EGAA throughout Q4 2020. To help us find out which topics are important to you, keep your eyes on our socials, as we will post on our Facebook and Twitter when the survey is open for submissions.
